These ads “fake” invitations to try out the game to steal players’ Steam accounts
On Reddit, a post warned about this issue after many ads began to appear. There, the promotional content looks like an early access opportunity for DICE’s upcoming shooter game. However, the links in the ads do not lead to the official EA or Steam pages but redirect to a fake website designed to mimic the login portal of Steam.

Unwary players are easily tricked into providing their Steam login information, along with their payment methods and linked game libraries. Although these websites are designed to look legitimate, careful users can spot suspicious domain names.
Community members quickly issued warnings, emphasizing that EA has not announced any playtest for Battlefield 6. They also reminded others that official tests are always handled through trusted EA and Steam channels. This topic has attracted the attention of Reddit users, with many players calling for Reddit to remove harmful ads.

This is not the first time scammers have exploited the community’s interest in major shooter titles
Call of Duty: Warzone players have previously been targeted by cheating tools, which were essentially malware. Activision warned in 2021 that popular “free hacks” for this game were actually programs capable of stealing data or installing malware.
Currently, players should avoid clicking on any ads about Battlefield 6 on Reddit and carefully check the URL. Official Steam pages will always end with “steampowered.com” or “steamcommunity.com”. Enabling two-factor authentication is also recommended as an additional protective measure.

This warning serves as a reminder that while anticipation for Battlefield 6 is very high, official announcements will come directly from EA and DICE, not from random ads on Reddit.
