Recently, Forbes magazine announced the “30 Under 30 Asia” list for 2024, featuring 300 talents under 30 years old across various fields in Asia. The selected faces in the list are all individuals under 30, working in different sectors, and have begun to create a positive impact in their respective professions and areas of activity.
In the Media, Marketing & Advertising sector, Dong Van Hung (born in 1996) – the owner of the YouTube channel “Mom’s Cooking” from Vietnam surprisingly made the list. The magazine introduced: “He launched the channel in early 2019 and unexpectedly attracted many viewers, reaching 100,000 subscribers within three months and earning a Silver Play Button. Each video depicts the genuine experiences of him and his mother while preparing meals, taking care of the garden, and sharing about simple life in the countryside. The channel is among the few representatives from Vietnam participating in the YouTube FanFest event in 2020.”

The channel owner is a follower and is aware of the annual voting organized by Forbes. Seeing a suitable category, the young YouTuber boldly submitted a nomination and was unexpectedly included in the list by Forbes. In a media interview, Dong Van Hung considers this a stroke of luck, knowing that there are many other outstanding young people in other countries. He was also surprised because he never thought he could make it to the top.
It is known that the channel Mom’s Cooking was established by Dong Van Hung in 2019 with the desire to convey the image of a hardworking mother, the lovingly prepared meals, and the simple scenery of rural Vietnam. The main character of the channel is his mother. Prior to this, with its simple and heartwarming style, “Mom’s Cooking” received much love from the online community. In 2020, the channel was nominated for the Hot YouTuber of the Year category at the WeChoice Awards.

The young YouTuber did not forget to express his gratitude first to his mother and family, who are the sources of inspiration and motivation for him to create the channel. He thanks the followers for their love for “Mom’s Cooking.” In the future, he stated that he would strive to create more content about cuisine and rural culture in Vietnam to introduce to international friends.
