While Twitch is known for its unpredictable performances from streamers, no one expected a female streamer to give birth live on air.
Recently, female streamer Fandy – who frequently plays games like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Overwatch – shocked the entire Twitch community when she decided to livestream her entire childbirth process, with tens of thousands of viewers watching live.

The streamer chose to give birth at home, assisted by two professional midwives and a few close friends.
Although the idea sounds crazy, everything went safely and smoothly. The total streaming time lasted about 7 hours and 48 minutes, culminating in the moment Fandy held her healthy baby girl in her arms – an image that moved many viewers. What made this event even stranger was that the Twitch chat room was present throughout the entire childbirth process. On the bedroom wall, a large screen continuously displayed chat messages, while Fandy occasionally glanced at her phone to see the fans’ reactions during moments of less pain.

There were no shortage of inappropriate comments from some viewers, such as offering to gift 100 subscriptions if she named the baby after them, or trying to get the female streamer to say some inappropriate words during contractions. However, the majority of the audience was very warm and lovely, spamming the phrase “I witnessed this moment” along with a series of adorable emojis congratulating the new mother. Amid the chaotic yet emotional atmosphere, viewers even discovered that Twitch’s CEO – Dan Clancy – participated in the chat room and left a message: “Good luck and congratulations.”

Clancy’s appearance not only surprised the community but also implicitly confirmed that broadcasting childbirth does not violate the platform’s content guidelines.
