When Female Streamers Become “Deviant”
Recently, the police in China successfully dismantled a network disseminating pornographic content via online applications, arresting 47 individuals, including many female streamers, and seizing numerous electronic devices.
Specifically, a team attracted attention for openly creating 18+, pornographic content on streaming platforms. They continuously recruited hosts and streamers to maximize their traffic. It is reported that over 600 streamers were listed for recruitment. They openly live-streamed pornographic content on platform X, and even linked users to illegal gambling websites, causing victims to lose both money and health.
Many Female Streamers in China Face Legal Troubles
Additionally, this group also sent sensitive videos and images to charge customers. After gathering sufficient evidence, the Ma’anshan police launched a focused arrest campaign. 47 beautiful female streamers active on platform X, along with 2 app developers, were arrested. A total of 138 electronic devices and 86 tools for committing crimes were confiscated. Currently, the case is still under further investigation.
This incident highlights the loopholes in the management and supervision of the livestreaming industry today. Internet users believe that this issue needs to be taken seriously, increasing surveillance, improving laws and regulations, while cutting channels that allow lawbreakers to profit illegally. At the same time, there should be increased online moral education for young people to guide them away from harmful content and comply with the law.
The public also points out that the increasing chaos in the livestreaming industry, which has existed for a long time, causes many disturbances in life. This situation serves as a strong warning to society: illegal online activities will never be tolerated, and people should avoid vulgar content, actively participating in building a healthy Internet environment.
Not far from this, online prostitution activities on TikTok are increasingly becoming a pressing issue as this platform gradually becomes an environment for carrying out illegal transactions. Previously, this activity was hidden under many accounts and private groups, even linked to external software and platforms.
It seemed that prostitution activities were carried out covertly and were difficult to detect. However, users were taken aback when many TikTok accounts openly sold sex without any reservations. Remember, like other social networks, TikTok also has its own set of policies regarding advertising activities. One of the prohibited aspects is products, services, and entertainment activities related to adult sexual content.
However, these advertisements still have not been effectively stopped. Users can only report or manually block these ads whenever they use the application. If an account is banned, the perpetrators will quickly switch to another account. To date, the Community Guidelines seem to be a system that exists in name only, as dirty content still easily slips through the rules and appears openly on the platform.
