On November 14, Andrea Aybar, 29 years old, whose Vietnamese name is Nguyễn Thị An, was arrested by the Ho Chi Minh City Police to investigate two acts of illegal possession of narcotics and organizing illegal drug use. This is the result of an expanded investigation into a case of illegal drug transportation by air from France to Vietnam (case VN10).
At the police station, model An Tay initially admitted her criminal behavior and acknowledged that this mistake had completely cost her career. At the same time, An Tay also sent a “piece of advice” to today’s youth regarding the use of illegal substances.

“I have acknowledged my mistakes and I have one piece of advice for young people: do not try or get involved with illegal substances even once,” said the model.
Previously, on the afternoon of November 9, police checked an apartment in Thạnh Mỹ Lợi Ward (Thu Duc City) and discovered An Tay along with several individuals showing signs of drug use. The test results indicated that the model tested positive for drugs. In addition, police also found that An Tay had concealed a quantity of drugs, leading to her and several others being taken to the station for investigation.
This action by the Ho Chi Minh City Police was part of an expanded effort to trace the entire criminal network transporting illegal drugs by air from France to Vietnam through four flight attendants. The Ho Chi Minh City Police has traced the “drug flow” to uncover the cover of the “kingpins,” thereby dismantling an additional 146 networks and groups involved in the illegal drug trade operating across provinces, prosecuting an additional 630 suspects.
The operation has dismantled a total of nearly 500 criminal networks and groups; prosecuted 1,132 suspects; imposed administrative fines and initiated rehabilitation proceedings for 201 individuals. More than 323.5 kg of drugs, 12 firearms, 3 grenades, and many related evidences have been seized.
Initially, authorities have clarified that the suspects traded drugs for more than 28 trillion VND.
