The Lunar New Year is just around the corner, but Gucci is still brimming with ideas, issuing a “mandate” to the design team to create a new profile picture and fanpage cover to welcome 2020. Initially, people thought the Italian fashion house would go extravagant and glorious, giving the fashion enthusiasts a visual treat. But it turned out everyone was wrong, as Gucci suddenly went “give me a ticket back to childhood” by designing a new logo in a doodle font that could easily be mistaken for that of kindergarten kids.

Visiting Gucci’s fanpage, anyone would be slightly startled or think they accidentally entered a “fake” page due to the green background and the messy handwritten green font, which is completely unlike the renowned brand’s style. In fact, even the cover photo has been revamped, but still maintains the shaky handwriting style introducing the Men’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection.

The designers must have “bitten the bullet” to complete the identity for the fashion house to please the higher-ups, as who dares to oppose their orders?

Faced with Gucci’s Lunar New Year look, netizens jokingly wondered if the brand hadn’t paid its design team yet, leading to such a situation. Many even almost mistook the “big player” for online shops just because of the rather amusing logo.

Many Vietnamese netizens humorously commented, some doubted the authenticity of the Gucci fanpage, while others jokingly said the design team heard news of their salaries coming after the New Year. However, some were more optimistic and “rated” the new logo of the Italian fashion house as cuter than the old logos.
