THE GAMING PROFESSION
“This profession is quite easy; you just play games, earn money, and become famous, who wouldn’t like that? But it’s also very special: Anyone can join, and anyone can become a ‘streamer’, leading to fierce competition.”
_ ViruSs – Đặng Tiến Hoàng _

Speaking of games, this is a form of entertainment that is quite popular among youth, teenagers, and even adults who have stable or good jobs. Along with the booming development of Esports, professional gamers receive monthly salaries, contributing their efforts to bring glory to their teams and even the reputation of a country. South Korea, China… have some of the strongest teams in the world across various genres such as League of Legends, DOTA 2, and boast millions of fans in their fields.
Being a gamer is not just a job you can pick up or drop at will; it represents the hard work of many individuals from various countries. The time they spend playing games is for fame, earning money, or simply for entertainment, fueled by passion and the desire to conquer the highest peaks.

It can be said that being a gamer is a legitimate profession; they work based on their efforts, dedicating their time in front of screens and computers. They practice out of passion, setting goals that drive them forward. They disregard all criticism and condemnation from society; what they invest in is truly worthy of reward.
For Vietnam, being a streamer or gamer is really challenging, and many may even abandon their dreams. Like PewPew, he was once an extremely famous streamer, with his humorous gameplay and commentary winning many fans. But in the past two years, he has given up his grand gaming career to sell bread?
There are thousands of reasons why gamers easily give up their dreams. Simply put, there are no training clubs like abroad, and Esports in Vietnam is virtually undeveloped, “self-sufficient” and “trial and error”. It could also be due to family influences on players, causing them to quit; or the income is not sufficient to sustain a living, leading them to abandon their path and take a different direction…
![[Golden Pen 2020] Please Appreciate Gamers 3 To bring home glory, Vietnamese gamers have to strive 5 to 10 times harder than their peers](https://thenettea.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/game1-1578673296787357173147.jpg)
Playing games is not only for entertainment, watching live streams, and chatting with celebrities like ViruSs, Đồng V, or Đàm Ngọc Linh… but it has reached a global level. To be among the top 1, top 5, or top 10 gamers, there must be careful calculations, clear competitive strategies, and serious investments.
As mentioned above, being a gamer is really not as people think; it’s not bad, truly. Some may be ‘real’ while others are ‘fake’, and there are various types of people. No one in the world is the same, even the way they address and communicate while live streaming varies greatly. Society only sees the negative aspects of gamers, without understanding the dedication and aspirations of gamers, the achievements they gain through each match.

Being a gamer also comes with difficulties, unlike what many people think; it’s not just about enjoying live streams or quitting whenever you want. There must be a broadcasting schedule each day that fits a regular eating and sleeping routine. Those who do livestreaming have their own struggles; with low income and few viewers supporting them, their eating and sleeping schedules often do not align with their health. They strive to live frugally to make ends meet for their basic needs and personal expenses, often facing food shortages.
Everyone says being a gamer is tough, but that’s only in the beginning. You can understand better through famous streamers sharing their personal lives. Everyone denies the achievements of gamers, thinking that gaming is only bad and not real. But out there, countless people still thrive thanks to prize money from games, and some even find a charming partner after heartbreak…
Gamers can develop strategies, predicting moves like ‘prophets’ in popular games like PUBG, Free Fire, League of Legends, Cửu Thiên 3D, Võ Lâm Truyền Kỳ…

Life is truly ironic; at some point, everyone will see the evolution of being a gamer and streamer, and ultimately, there will be a rush to pursue this profession. No matter what anyone says, they will eventually recognize the growth of the gaming industry, and gamers will be loved more than ever…
Personally, I have a wish, to once shake hands, meet, and learn from gamers and document how they have achieved their current fame and admiration, always being followed… even if I only get to meet them accidentally on a pedestrian street, those gamers have made me happy, making me feel ‘lost on my way home’…
The “Golden Pen” playground has become a tradition, organized annually by GameK to give everyone an opportunity to interact and showcase themselves alongside gamers from all over.
