AI has become one of the explosive trends on the internet recently. From chatbots to AI-generated images that resemble real people with just a few lines of description. This has led many to incorporate AI into their daily lives, but there have also been many comical yet tragic stories arising from this so-called AI.

Specifically, a gamer in China was scammed out of a large sum of money after getting to know an ‘AI girl’ through a game. After some flirtatious exchanges that felt ‘in tune’, this gamer asked for the girl’s phone number and chat ID to get to know her better. Once their conversation deepened enough, the gamer requested pictures of her.
This request was, of course, met with a slew of images sent via messages. Thinking he had befriended a ‘cute girl’, this gamer began his quest to win over his ‘dream girl’. Initially, it was just lighthearted chit-chat before bedtime, sharing daily work life stories. Gradually, this gamer developed feelings and was willing to meet all the ‘girl’s’ requests.

Then, the ‘girl’ confided that she was facing difficulties in life, with her parents in the countryside burdened by debt. She asked the gamer to lend her some money, and unexpectedly, his account immediately ‘got hit’. However, after successfully borrowing the money, the ‘girl’ suddenly disappeared.
Unable to reach her, sensing something was off, the gamer sent a picture of his ‘girlfriend’ to a friend, only to discover that it was just an image created by AI. The girl, of course, was not real. In the end, it was all due to his ‘infatuation’ and lack of understanding, leaving this gamer bitterly watching his money disappear without a trace.
