Spent 1.6 Billion on a Famous Streamer
Unhappy in her marriage, 44-year-old Yuan chose livestream channels for entertainment whenever she had free time. Last October, she stumbled upon a channel of a group of male streamers who were live dancing and playing games. Here, she gave the host “X-Wind” a small gift.
After the broadcast, this guy proactively contacted Yuan through private messages. They shared many conversations, during which he revealed that his family was unhappy, he was betrayed by his wife and then divorced. His relatives were ill, suffering from chronic ailments, with some even having cancer, so he needed to work hard to cover expenses. Due to his unfortunate circumstances, the streamer gained the sympathy of his female fan.

As a result, Yuan’s donations to him skyrocketed from a few hundred yuan a day to thousands, even tens of thousands of yuan. To put it simply, the total amount she spent on the male streamer was 430,000 yuan (nearly 1.6 billion VND). The relationship between the two became increasingly intimate. She even helped her idol win in game competitions thanks to her substantial financial contributions.
“He wanted me to divorce. He said he would quit his job to be with me and swore that he wouldn’t cheat on anyone else. And I actually divorced my husband in a moment of impulse,” Yuan recalled.
After the divorce, Yuan looked forward to a dream life with the streamer. He even mentioned having her buy a house in the countryside for them to retreat together. Therefore, when Xiaoqi – another fan of the male streamer messaged Yuan privately, revealing a friendship that was more than just friends, the 44-year-old wealthy woman was taken aback. Yuan was completely devastated, her mental state became abnormal, suffering from severe depression and anxiety.
Similar to Yuan, the male streamer “shared his woes” with over 10 female fans to gain sympathy and then exploited their donations. Some even provided evidence and claimed they were also deceived by a similar script. In fact, one person lost up to 800,000 yuan (nearly 3 billion VND) to him.
However, only a few dared to report him to the police, as most felt it was a shameful matter. Yuan chose to stand up not only because the male streamer threatened and psychologically tortured her but also to expose someone like him to warn other female fans.
As for the 1994-born male streamer, he claimed he had no relationship with Yuan.
He also denied inciting her to divorce. Regarding allegations of dating multiple people at once, he refuted them. When reporters asked about his relationships with other women, he stated that “having relationships with others is not illegal,” “addressing physiological needs in conversations is normal,” “screenshots of conversations do not show context,” and “being an idol streamer can easily lead to romantic controversies”…

He explained that “private chats with fans are to thank them for their gifts and that is a normal part of a host’s job.” This person later admitted that the live channel received gifts from Yuan, but he also transferred money to her, claiming that the amount he spent on her was close to what she donated. “She forced me to leave my job together, I couldn’t accept that, she couldn’t accept that my job required interacting with female fans, and ultimately we had disagreements…”.
Yuan countered that their relationship fell apart not because she demanded he leave his job but because other fans exposed his character and improper relationships. She also stated that she deeply regretted the incident: “I have my own reasons, and I am willing to take the blame. But I feel that I must stand up to protect others.”
