The incident that recently occurred in China has made netizens in the country very excited. Accordingly, Ms. Zhang (28 years old), living in Wuxi, encountered a stray Golden Retriever while on a business trip to Changzhou.
The dog was very thin, with matted fur and covered in mud, suggesting it had been wandering for a long time. Being a pet owner, the girl felt compassion for the poor Golden Retriever. She bought water and sausages from a nearby supermarket and fed the dog. Shortly after, Ms. Zhang drove straight home.
After driving for a while, Ms. Zhang suddenly glanced in the rearview mirror and discovered that the dog was desperately chasing after her car. The girl was confused and didn’t know what to do; she continued driving, thinking that the dog would tire out and stop by the roadside.
However, this Golden Retriever was truly persistent. It continued to chase the car even as it entered the highway. Ms. Zhang panicked and had to slow down and steer away from the dangerous road.
Throughout the journey, she realized that this Golden Retriever was quite intelligent, knowing how to avoid vehicles. It wasn’t until the young girl stopped the car and let it inside that the dog had run a total of 10km, even across the highway.
“I only fed it once, and I don’t understand why it followed me all the way home. It is a stubborn dog,” Ms. Zhang shared on social media.

In the end, the girl decided to take this stray dog home to live with another dog of the same breed she had. The animal was so clever that it even knew how to win over the other dog at home, always letting the other dog eat first and never fighting for sleeping spots or toys.
