Recently, the online community and TikTok users felt uncomfortable with a review clip about Sà Bì Chưởng by the trio of streamers Độ Mixi – PewPew – Xemesis. There wouldn’t be anything noteworthy if this TikToker hadn’t approached the review in a “provocative” manner as a form of emphasis.

At the start of the clip, this TikToker stated, “Finally, this day has come. Perhaps this is the restaurant I’m most hesitant to review because there are a lot of ‘teenagers’ here! But I’m afraid of…”. And then, the content of the clip had nothing remarkable as the TikToker still gave compliments to Sà Bì Chưởng.
TikTok users are likely familiar with this type of “whitewashing” content. This means starting the clip with a statement that makes viewers uncomfortable, while the entire content later aims for a positive purpose or praise. However, regardless of how it’s presented, everyone still feels averse to the “view-chasing” methods of these TikTokers.
Not long ago, a TikToker named Nờ Ô Nô had to pay the price for a clip made in a similar manner. The audience didn’t care much about the overarching purpose of the clip or the creator’s motivation; a provocative opening statement was enough to make everyone feel unpleasant. And then the outcome for Nờ Ô Nô was clear to all.

The goal of these TikTokers is nothing but to get views. However, being willing to use vulgar remarks to provoke and attract the audience’s curiosity certainly leads to unpleasant consequences. Creating healthy, decent content is what truly deserves appreciation, unfortunately, the aforementioned TikToker did not want to approach this direction.
