Recently, information about a famous Teamfight Tactics (TFT) streamer being arrested for investigation into organizing illegal gambling has stirred public opinion.
According to information from authorities, from May 14 until now, the total amount of money transferred in and out for gambling participation is approximately 70 billion VND, with about 65,000 betting transactions (from around 1000 participants). The case involves individual SVM Cuong TD (Đ.M.Cuong, 27 years old), a player who has competed in regional TFT tournaments and has certain achievements.
In recent seasons, Cuong TD shifted focus to livestreaming and gradually opened a “gambling den” before being discovered as above. Additionally, 11 other individuals (including 7 in Hanoi; 3 in Dong Nai; 1 in Binh Phuoc) were also arrested for investigation. If convicted, Cuong and co-defendants will be charged with Gambling and Organizing Gambling or Betting under articles 321, 322 of the Penal Code.

Along with the surprise from the online community, TikToker D.X.D – a close friend who knows the streamer involved is also astonished.
He revealed the personality and private life of his former “teammate”:
“Previously, we invested in a gaming team, with one person as a manager and another as a player. About 6 months ago, there were few players in the game, and income was not good, so they requested to resign, and the team disbanded.
After some time, from what I saw shared on social media, I noticed they had a happy and fulfilled life, but I wasn’t sure what their jobs were.
From what I know, initially, they operated on a small scale, just among acquaintances, then expanded more despite the advice of many. They were very gentle people before, but now I’m not sure. Their actions have caused significant financial repercussions for many people.” – D shared on his personal channel.

These revelations did not surprise the public too much. Although it is hard to imagine the exact, specific reasons that led these gentle streamers and gamers to become blinded and ignore actions leading to legal consequences, the allure of “quick wealth” is hard to resist. Especially when the potential profits seem so large!
