Social media and forums have continuously reported on An Tây being detained for investigation regarding two offenses: Illegal possession of narcotics and Organizing illegal use of narcotics. During this time, she admitted to her criminal actions and acknowledged that this mistake has cost her career.
Most recently, An Tây’s brother – Rufino Aybar (commonly known as Tây Ba Lô) officially spoke out, apologizing to the public after the unwarranted uproar regarding his sister.
He expressed regret and apologized for the troubles his sister has caused. The male TikToker also shared the significant impact on the image of both their family and those around them.

For the past 20 days, my family has received a lot of care and encouragement from everyone, especially after the video where An recognized her mistakes. The support from everyone is a great motivation for our family to be stronger and more resilient in the face of this incident.
I also want to once again, on behalf of An, apologize to everyone. This is a serious mistake that has disappointed those who have loved and supported An, as well as our family. During the investigation process and before there is an official conclusion from the investigative agency, I hope everyone can objectively assess the responsibilities of individuals involved in this incident, including our father and myself.”
An Tây’s brother shared that although his sister facing criticism is unavoidable, he believes that everyone deserves a chance to correct their mistakes and become better. He urged everyone to view and evaluate the individuals involved in this incident fairly, and not to be overly harsh or negative towards him and their father.
Lastly, Rufino Tây Ba Lô stated that he is ready to resume activities, looking forward and trying to make everything return to normal. “I hope that the fair and loving audience will continue to support and accompany my father and me in the upcoming time.
