When he first gained popularity, netizens expressed admiration and excitement for the rich meal menus at such affordable prices that this TikToker could prepare.
Recently, this guy expanded his activities by making and selling his own food. Specifically, L.A.N advertised shrimp paste for 400,000 VND/kg. This price was deemed too high by another male TikToker, as high-quality pork costs only around 100,000 VND/kg to 150,000 VND/kg, and the shrimp paste he sells is only 40,000 VND/jar which can be used up to 10 times.
L.A.N had previously explained that the ingredients for this dish include meat, shrimp, shrimp paste, spices, galangal… not to mention the costs for packaging and e-commerce fees. Additionally, the pork bought shrinks after cooking, so 1 kg of meat results in a reduced weight in the final product. While explaining and receiving support from the public, he still faced accusations of “putting others down to lift himself up” from competitors.
After the controversy, L.A.N unexpectedly locked the product link. However, the reason is that he received support for over 600 orders, which he could not produce in time. Therefore, he had to temporarily lock this product on the platform for 3 days to catch up on production and fulfill orders.
