According to Red Star News, the Kujiang Police Station under the Public Security Bureau of Kujiang County in Sichuan received a report at the end of March from the owner of an electronic game shop in the area. This person reported that a gamer had come to play in his shop, using “fake” coins to play games, causing him some financial damage. After receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation.
The shop owner stated that recently, many customers noticed that the design of the game coins they exchanged was different from before, so they inquired if there were new game coins available. Subsequently, the shop classified all the game coins in the machine and found over 3,000 game coins that did not come from the store.

Based on the shop owner’s description, the police quickly identified the suspect as Chen (male, 28 years old) and summoned him to the police station.
Chen confessed that previously, he had spent money in the shop at a rate of 0.44 yuan (about 1,500 VND) for one game coin. He believed this price was too high.
At the same time, he accidentally discovered that game coins were being sold online for 476 yuan (1.6 million VND) for 4,300 game coins, so he spent money to buy fake coins. He used 3,138 fake coins to cheat the arcade machine, causing the shop owner a loss of over 1,000 yuan (nearly 3.5 million VND).

The outcome for this sneaky cheating scheme is that Chen is currently being administratively detained as per regulations.
