Earlier, the Criminal Investigation Department and the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (Cybersecurity Department) of Da Nang City Police discovered many closed groups on the Telegram social network showing signs of operating as prostitution brokers in Da Nang City.
Through professional measures, the Criminal Investigation Department coordinated with the Cybersecurity Department to identify Nguyễn Trương Anh Tuấn (born in 1985; residing in Châu Tứ village, Bình Nguyên commune, Bình Sơn district, Quảng Ngãi province; temporarily residing in Hòa Hải ward, Ngũ Hành Sơn district, Da Nang City) as the mastermind and leader of a prostitution brokerage ring operating in Da Nang City.
Through the Telegram application, Tuấn established an “ecosystem” consisting of many pages and closed groups such as “Lan Quế Phường Đà Nẵng, Lan Quế Phường Chat, Hot List Lan Quế Phường, Đà Nẵng Love Market…” to post promotional photos of sex workers (provided by the sex workers) for the purpose of interaction, “advertising” to those seeking to purchase sexual services, conducting illegal prostitution brokerage for profit, attracting thousands of participants and accounts.
By April 10, the Director of Da Nang City Police instructed the Criminal Investigation Department to establish an investigative case named “Prostitution Brokerage in Da Nang City” involving multiple forces, primarily the Criminal Investigation Department and the Cybersecurity Department. On April 15, the case task force proceeded to break the case, arresting Nguyễn Trương Anh Tuấn, and dismantling the prostitution ring.
Through initial interrogations, Nguyễn Trương Anh Tuấn admitted to his criminal acts. Tuấn is the one who established the Telegram group “Lan Quế Phường” operating since 2022, which has a total of 14,611 members.
During his operations, Tuấn connected, recruited, and gathered over 300 sex workers to engage in prostitution within this ring. The amount charged for prostitution services ranges from 500,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND per session.
The illicit profits from the “Prostitution Brokerage” activities, where Tuấn collected monthly fees from each sex worker ranging from 500,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND per month.
Since 2022, the transaction amount related to “Sexual Service Transactions” occurring in the “Lan Quế Phường” group has reached tens of billions of VND, resulting in Tuấn earning billions of VND from his “Prostitution Brokerage” activities.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department is coordinating with the Cybersecurity Department to continue expanding the case, pursuing other individuals involved.
