The storyline of part 2 continues from the previous installment. The ship that the Patapons and Zigotons built has finally been completed, and they set sail for new lands. On their way, they are attacked by a Kraken. After being defeated, the Patapons drift into a mysterious land (which is actually their homeland – Patamon).
At the beginning of the game, the Patapons discover a mysterious “hero” wearing a mask that enhances their abilities. He has lost his memory, and his true identity is forgotten and hidden. Later, the Patapons fight against the Akumapons and the “Dark One” (who is actually Makoton, a Zigoton killed in the first game by Baban and now resurrected) who has traded his soul to demons for power. Gong the Hawkeye and his Zigoton teammates appear once again to assist the Patapons against Karmen.
Previously, Sony teased the remake of Patapon 2, but then it went “missing” for two years. Recently, Sony confirmed that this game will be released to gamers on January 30, 2020.
