The Covid-19 pandemic Covid-19 is still evolving complexly in many countries and regions around the world. Many countries, including Vietnam and China, have allowed students to stay at home for online learning. This is a temporary and mandatory measure because sending students to school during these days is truly not safe.

Of course, studying online at home always brings about many ridiculous issues that teachers and parents find hard to control. The story of a 7th grader in China below is a typical example of online learning at home lacking self-discipline and seriousness.

The story is that this boy, like many other students in China, is not allowed to go to school but instead attends online classes. However, instead of diligently reviewing and learning new knowledge, this student decided to cause “disruptions”. Being a gaming enthusiast, his parents even bought him a smartphone to facilitate his studies and entertainment needs.

However, this young gamer used his phone to “resist” online learning. Instead of studying with his friends, this young player decided to invent a new way of learning to… play while studying by splitting the phone screen (a feature commonly found on Android phones), with half the screen for math homework and the other half for gaming.
However, nothing would have happened to this boy if he hadn’t taken a picture and boasted to his friends, sharing the secret for them to follow suit. “Good news travels fast”, and the story reached his homeroom teacher, who immediately called to inform the parents. The parents of the young gamer quickly “rushed” to the room and caught the boy still executing this “study” trick. After that, this young gamer had to seriously comply with online learning and say goodbye to his phone.

The story above serves as a lesson for other students in Vietnam to focus on online learning to avoid forgetting knowledge during these Covid-19 pandemic days.
