Despite its recent launch, Call of Duty: Mobile VN by VNG has has faced numerous controversies from the gaming community. Previously, a segment of players had called for a “boycott” of VNG’s version due to concerns over potential hacking and cheating issues. It seems that the worries of Vietnamese players have indeed come to pass, as hacking has emerged in Call of Duty: Mobile VN.

Immediately, the Fanpage of Call of Duty: Mobile VN announced a list of IDs that were permanently banned for cheating due to the use of third-party software interfering with the game. In various communities of Call of Duty: Mobile VN, many gamers have also reported encountering hacks in this game, right from the first days of its release.

However, there are still gamers who have come forward to defend VNG and Call of Duty: Mobile VN regarding this hacking issue. Specifically, this player stated: “The Garena version also has hacks. The VNG version also has hacks. But what I mean here is not that VNG has more hacks than Garena, but rather the awareness of you guys with the anti-VNG mentality, wanting to hack out of spite. Don’t think that the Garena game doesn’t have hacks. It’s just like the VNG server, but the players there have better awareness. There are fewer hacks.

In fact, mobile games in Vietnam, from Garena to VNG through VTC Mobile, there’s hardly a game that doesn’t have many hacks. It’s just that the self-deprecation mentality of you toxic players is too high. They brought the game to you. Due to some reasons, they couldn’t share a server with Garena, so they opened a server worth nearly a hundred billion. If you don’t understand, then that’s fine. Some people insult. Some hack and then turn around to say VNG operates like *** bla bla. Poor community awareness means that any game will be ruined, so don’t blame the publisher. The game just launched for a day and the top KD on the server has already reached 50.
The defense from this player quickly received feedback from the community. Most of them believe that no matter what mobile game it is, there will always be hacks, and the nature of the Call of Duty Mobile international server also experiences hacks. Therefore, it is difficult to say that hacks are a “specialty” of games published by VNG.

Returning to the issue of hacking and cheating in Call of Duty: Mobile VN, this entirely depends on the awareness of the players. And the awareness of a segment of Vietnamese gamers has always been extremely poor, if not to say “terrible”. There are some who want to stand on the “heads” of others, but not based on their own abilities but only through hacking software to destroy the game. This is a “timeless” issue in the Vietnamese online gaming scene since its early days. Hacking always accompanies online games; it’s just a matter of how the players perceive it.

If all players truly want to create a balanced environment that truly reflects esports, then the hacking situation would never arise. Unfortunately, among millions of gamers, there will still be a “few thousand” rotten apples wanting to cheat, wanting to dominate without stemming from their own abilities. That is a deeply unfortunate situation.
