Everyone knows that mechanical keyboards are an expensive hobby, with entry-level prices starting at a few million VND and premium models reaching tens of millions of VND. Last year, the Vietnamese computer group VGS (Vietnam Gaming Setup) shocked everyone by auctioning a single keycap (the cover for the key) for a final selling price of 19 million VND. This record has now been broken with a much higher price: 50 million VND for a tiny keycap!

This auction took place within the Vietnam Mechanical Keyboard (VNMK) community. Member Nam Michael shared that after winning a game in the group, he received a special keycap named Sirius Noel from Artkey Universe, which he had no use for, so he decided to auction it off.
Since it was a gift, “selling it for spending money doesn’t seem reasonable,” he decided to use all the proceeds to support the COVID-19 prevention fund of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The auction lasted only one day, with many excited participants because this keycap is unique, with only 10 pieces sold worldwide, and also because the final amount will be used for a good cause.

Although the initial selling price was only 70 USD, the price offered by members quickly increased many times over that amount. The 1000 USD mark was held for a long time but was unexpectedly surpassed in the final moments by member Hữu Nghĩa, who bid up to 50 million VND!

Both the auction organizer and the group administrator did not expect that the final price would be so high. The bidder stated that he had received the money and would transfer it to the COVID-19 fund that same evening.
