In the latest 7.1 update of PUBG, the developers have reduced the number of bots appearing. The reason stems from negative feedback from the player community regarding the excessive number of bots in recent times.

Previously, PUBG had increased the number of bots on console platforms and Stadia to make the game easier for newcomers. However, this drove players crazy as they encountered too many bots instead of real players. This did not help gamers but rather ruined their survival game experience.
To rectify the mistake, PUBG Corp has reduced the number of bots in the latest update 7.1 released at the end of April. The developer announced in a Reddit post that they had removed bots for 75% of the top players leading PUBG.
The remaining players are beginners, so there will still be a high number of bots to help them get acquainted with the game. Because if low-skilled players are combined with professional players, they will not be able to experience much.

This action by PUBG Corp has shown that the developers are seriously listening to player feedback. They are doing their utmost and investing heavily to make the game more enjoyable.
More feedback will help developers refine the game, and that will help bring PUBG back to its golden age in the battle royale genre like three years ago.

However, many players have commented on Reddit that they want the PUBG developers to completely remove bots. They also said that there hasn’t been much change in the number of bots compared to before the update. But in reality, the number of bots only decreases during peak hours when the number of players is high.
