There’s no denying that 1977 Vlog is one of the most interesting phenomena in the Vietnamese YouTube scene in 2019. Although they have only recently gained recognition, this group of YouTubers has left a significant mark on the audience with their insightful videos, humorous storytelling style, and messages that are both trolling and satirical in an incredibly funny way. Now, every month, the online community eagerly awaits the next product from 1977 Vlog.

However, once they became a viral sensation and gained widespread recognition, the topic of this YouTube group’s income was once again brought to the table. This is not surprising, as previously, discussions around how much money Mrs. Tan Vlog’s channel could earn after becoming famous had also been a hot topic on social media. Based on data from Social Blade, the amount of money that 1977 Vlog can earn may truly surprise the online community. Specifically, according to analysis, the YouTube group can earn between 579 USD – 9,300 USD per month (approximately 13.5 million – 217 million VND), and the annual figure ranges from 6,900 USD – 111,100 USD per year (approximately 161 million – 2.6 billion VND).

However, according to the members of 1977 Vlog, this figure is not entirely accurate, especially with YouTube’s payment rates in Vietnam. Their videos usually have relatively short durations, which also affects their revenue. Specifically, short videos of about 5 minutes earn 0.2 USD starting from 1,000 views, and when reaching 1 million views, they only earn 200 USD. The longer the video, the more money can be earned due to having more “space” for YouTube ads. Moreover, despite having a huge number of views, the number of videos from 1977 Vlog is quite limited, usually producing only one product a month, and the group does not receive many advertisements. Therefore, the idea of earning a staggering income, reaching billions a year from YouTube, is completely unfounded.

“The money we earn is just enough to maintain our passion, just like going to work for a salary; there’s absolutely no way we’re making billions a year” – 1977 Vlog shared.
