Recently, the Incheon International Airport Customs Office (South Korea) announced the arrest of two South Korean citizens, including a 33-year-old woman (A) – famous streamer and a 33-year-old man (B), for smuggling 11.77g of methamphetamine from Cambodia. Both suspects have been arrested and handed over to the authorities for investigation under the Drug Management Law.

The incident was discovered in April when customs officials conducted an inspection of a special package sent from Cambodia. During the inspection, authorities found the drugs divided into 5 packages and cleverly hidden in a travel bag. The amount of methamphetamine seized in this case is estimated to be enough for 392 users at the same time. Immediately, an investigation was launched.

It is known that A is a female streamer and social media influencer. Living in Cambodia, she took advantage of her local knowledge to buy methamphetamine and send it back to South Korea. Meanwhile, B, a cryptocurrency and stock investor, was responsible for financing the smuggling operation. B was arrested at the address listed on the package. From B’s testimony, investigators identified A as an accomplice and proceeded to arrest A right at the immigration checkpoint at Incheon Airport when she returned from Cambodia.
Mr. Yoo Yong-bae, Head of the Drug Investigation Division 2 of the Customs Office, emphasized: “No matter how carefully the drugs are divided and hidden, we will still detect and apprehend. We are continuously updating our equipment and methods to detect the latest drugs to counter increasingly sophisticated smuggling tactics.”
This incident reaffirms the determination of the authorities in the fight against drugs.
