Online dating seems to be becoming a trend among young people these days. Fast and convenient are its advantages, but along with that come countless risks, just like online shopping. Until you receive and check the product, you won’t know if what you get resembles what you imagined or what was advertised. The latest heartbreaking case of the young man in the story below is no different.

The main character in our story is a 26-year-old man who, at this moment, has never been in a relationship. One day, while casually browsing online, he stumbled upon a social media account that he admits made his heart flutter just from looking at the pictures. Gathering all his courage to message the “goddess” and confidently share his feelings, he found that both shared similar interests. Eventually, he mustered up the courage to confess his feelings and surprisingly succeeded.

The young man’s taste in beautiful girls is not wrong. Indeed, based on the photos online, the girl has quite an attractive appearance with her stylish short hair and gentle smile, and no one could tell that she is a product of Photoshop. However, it is strange that despite his repeated requests to meet, the beautiful girl always responded with “not the right time,” even though the young man was extremely eager and impatient.

Feeling curious and confused, the young man sneaked over to his “online girlfriend’s” workplace to find out more. But perhaps this was the worst decision he could make. When he inquired about the identity and seating of the “goddess,” someone in the shop pointed to a girl in the corner, and that was when his heart shattered into pieces. Shocked and regretting to see that his girlfriend looked nothing like her online persona and appeared like a scruffy man, our protagonist left without saying goodbye.

The first thing he did when he got home was to log onto his social media and share his story online. Although he was quite shocked and hurt, he still tried to share positively, saying that he was lucky to discover it early and did not get deceived or fall too deep into this relationship.
