Japan has always been famous for being a leader in creating and embracing unique and innovative service styles. Recently, the online community was abuzz when they witnessed a new cafe trend from the land of the rising sun, known as sleep cafe.
At first glance, it may seem a bit sensitive, but at these cafes, customers simply choose a genuine sleep experience, accompanied by services from beautiful female staff. Accordingly, the cafe’s “menu” is quite diverse, allowing customers to choose various forms such as being patted on the back by staff or borrowing a staff member’s thigh as a pillow. Depending on the duration of sleep and additional options, prices will vary. It is known that the lowest price for this service usually falls around $40 (nearly one million VND), while the most premium package can reach about $400 (nearly 10 million VND).

Additionally, this service type has quickly developed in Japan, even to the extent that customers can completely “hire” staff – still beautiful girls to accompany them to amusement parks for 6 hours at a price exceeding ten million VND. Naturally, all sensitive contact actions that make staff uncomfortable are strictly prohibited. However, the rules remain relatively open, as customers can pay an additional 5,000 yen (about over one million VND) to hug staff while sleeping, provided that they do not touch sensitive areas.

Of course, to ensure that everything remains under control and that the rules are strictly enforced, there is always at least one security guard stationed outside each “cafe” room to prevent any inappropriate actions by customers.
It truly is a unique business service. However, what has sparked considerable discussion in the online community is why it is called a sleep cafe when, from start to finish, the term cafe seems almost irrelevant to the entire story. Moreover, clearly, customers come here just to sleep; very few actually need to drink coffee.
