“Miracle Man” Prahlad Jani is highly respected by the people in Gujarat, western India, for his “divine” abilities. This priest, born in August 1929, once shared that he was “blessed by the goddess from a young age, allowing him to survive without food or drink.” His life in Charada village was dedicated to practicing yoga and meditation. On May 26, Prahlad Jani passed away at the age of 91, taking with him many mysteries that scientists have yet to unravel.
Among these, the concept of “immortality” has once again come into discussion, as there are too many aspects of Prahlad Jani’s case that science cannot explain.
According to this elderly man during his lifetime, he became a follower of Amba (Mother Universe) at the age of 11 and gradually began to dress like this deity. He lived according to customs as a member of the Hindu community and was thus admired by those around him, referred to as Mataji. His claim of living without food and drink like ordinary people attracted the attention of scientists. To this day, public opinion has only partially validated the “divine” abilities of this elderly priest through two scientific experiments.
The experiment in 2003 lasted 10 days
Set in Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad, with a team of experienced doctors, Prahlad Jani entered the 10-day challenge. The testing room was sealed and monitored 24/7. Every “movement” in the restroom and the bed Jani used was closely observed. During the first 7 days, this priest had no contact with water but was later allowed to bathe and rinse his mouth. What astonished everyone, according to Dr. Urman Dhruv, was that Jani did not excrete feces or urine.
“The history of science must be rewritten. Our entire understanding of science has been shaken,” is what this doctor had to admit. Another interesting piece of information related to Jani’s condition during this period is that he lost 4 kg after the first 7 days but gained 1 kg back in the final days.
The experiment in 2010 lasted 15 days
Ten years ago, Jani was again admitted to the hospital for a check-up on his “abilities” under the observation of 36 medical experts from the Indian Ministry of Defence. During the 15-day observation, doctors noted that he neither ate nor drank, nor did he have any excretory activity. The conclusion about his health at that time indicated he was in normal condition. They referred to this as a miraculous adaptation under conditions of no metabolism.
Although it contradicts physiological laws, people still cannot explain the case of this elderly priest, and his death has brought along many speculations about the “supernatural” abilities that ordinary people cannot perceive.
