Yang Soo Bin is one of the most beloved mukbang stars on YouTube in both Vietnam and South Korea. Although her appearance is somewhat overweight, her eating videos have a strong appeal to viewers. She has won the hearts of Vietnamese fans even more by personally traveling to the S-shaped country to experience the cuisine and accepting the lead role in the music video “Yêu Được Không” by singer Đức Phúc. Currently, Yang Soo Bin has over 5 million followers on social media and is considered a major influencer among the youth in several countries.
However, just a few hours ago, the “Korean Mukbang Star” Yang Soobin unexpectedly informed her fans about her health situation after undergoing surgery to remove half of her thyroid on May 27. It is reported that due to complications affecting her vocal cords, her voice has been impacted, leading the “mukbang star” to decide to temporarily pause her vlogs. In a post written in four languages, Soobin stated that she successfully underwent surgery to completely address her thyroid papillary cancer.
A few months ago, Soo Bin started getting used to shopping for groceries and cooking at home as part of her weight loss plan. She only eats two meals a day and follows the principle of: limiting carbohydrates, sugar, and increasing vegetables and protein. After her dieting process, she suddenly noticed an abnormality in her neck area and upon examination, doctors reported that it was a tumor approximately 3 cm in size.
Upon receiving the news about the tumor, the food enthusiast was quite worried about her health. But she also reassured herself that losing weight was a factor in the early detection of the disease for timely treatment. “Right now, I am in the recovery stage,” Yang Soobin shared.
It is expected that in the near future, if she resumes vlogging, she will only use subtitles to avoid straining her vocal cords. “This is a crisis in my life, but I believe I will overcome it,” Yang Soobin affirmed.
The “Korean Mukbang Star” also shared an optimistic image from her hospital bed to reassure her fans. Many positive comments have been sent by Asian fans wishing for her quick recovery.
