To attract the “ladies,” the “gentlemen” in the animal kingdom use various methods. For instance, male seabirds offer their mates the finest food, male house sparrows build beautiful nests to entice the females, and male pheasants rely on their striking appearance with a vibrant red pouch on their chests,… while male peacocks typically invest considerable time and effort into decorating their magnificent tail feathers. Theoretically, if they are released into the wild, they would woo their partners in their own unique ways.
But what about those males that have been confined for too long?

At a peacock farm in Indianapolis, the capital city of Indiana, USA, a rare incident occurred. After the farm closed, the peacocks there began to move outside and became trapped in various locations. Local residents formed Facebook groups to share information in an effort to locate this flock. Over the course of two months, staff from the Indianapolis Animal Care Services managed to track down and capture a male peacock named Frank in the southeastern part of the city.

Interestingly, the journey that Frank undertook during this time has been documented. It is reported that this male peacock traveled over 1000 km from Franklin Township to Indianapolis in search of a mate. He captured the attention of the local community due to his striking appearance. Based on a tracking map of the locations where residents spotted Frank, they were able to locate and capture him.

The fate of this peacock will be to remain in a farm rather than wandering the streets amidst various dangers. However, what might frustrate this peacock is that he remains… single. The sight of Frank always being alone over the years has indeed stirred up frustration among netizens on his behalf.
