However, recently, the online community had the chance to witness a tear-inducing moment when the majestic lion – the king of the jungle – unexpectedly became frightened and trembling to the point of climbing a tree to escape from a herd of buffaloes – animals that they usually regard as prey.
Specifically, the photo was taken at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It is unclear why the lion was chased by the buffaloes to the point of panicking and clinging to a tree in a rather pitiful manner. In fact, the herd of buffaloes even patiently waited for their opponent to fall so they could “fight it out to the finish.” However, putting all that aside, the proud lion still clung tightly to the tree trunk as if it were its only lifeline. According to the photographer, the male lion was unexpectedly chased right in its own territory, and only when it climbed the tree did it manage to escape.
