The CS:GO community is often regarded as a “strange” place due to the “unusual” behavior of some gamers here. From accusing groups of cheating in the game without providing any evidence, to continuously sending death threats to a 16-year-old.
Do you think that’s all? Recently, another “quirky” incident occurred in the CS:GO community when a guy faked his own death just to get… pardoned in the ESEA tournament.
It sounds crazy, but this is real as the CS:GO gamer named “Meho” thought this would be the “ultimate” prank to escape a ban from ESEA. The male gamer decided to fake his death and told his friends to go along with him. The prank started with a Tweet on Twitter on June 15.

At that time, this information was also confirmed by Zyrus, a support staff member at ESEA. He tweeted that his last conversation with Meho took place just four hours before the incident and it was sad to know that “the community has lost a soul”.

From this evidence, the entire CS:GO community believed that Meho had indeed passed away in the car accident. However, it was all just “a prank” as he was still alive and continued to compete in the ESEA tournament. The one who exposed this was none other than commentator Ryan on June 17.

According to Meho’s profile on the ESEA system, people can see that the last time he played on this platform was on June 18. A day after the community continuously “called out his name”, Zyrus appeared to inform everyone that it was all just a fictional story. Although he was happy that no one was hurt, no one actually found humor in this prank.
Also, by the end of that day, Meho “resurrected” on Twitter, revealing that he had faked his death to escape punishment from ESEA.

It seems the prank was still not enough, as the male gamer continued to announce that he had just signed a contract as a Valorant player. However, it seems the community had “learned their lesson” after this recent hoax, so most people no longer believed what he said.
