Many users have reported that after updating to the latest operating system version, iOS 13.5.1, their iPhone experiences severe battery drain. The cause is believed to be related to the Apple Music app, but even when this app is not running, it still significantly drains the battery.

User Mojo06 stated: “I just bought an iPhone 11 a few days ago and noticed that the battery drains very quickly. I haven’t even used Apple Music once, but it has been running in the background for over 18 hours and consumed 95% of my battery. My iPhone 11 also keeps getting hot.”
User Brianwpi mentioned: “My iPhone is getting hot and restarting multiple times. The iPhone X is running iOS 13.5.1, with a battery status of 91%. I have to charge it several times a day to use it. Does anyone have a fix for this?”

User svphies reported: “I am having the same issue with my iPhone 11 after updating to iOS 13.5.1. I haven’t opened the Apple Music app, nor have I downloaded any songs from it. I hope Apple will fix this issue soon.”
Some users have had to delete the Apple Music app entirely, which stopped the battery drain. However, for many users subscribed to Apple Music, this is not a solution. A few users reported that they could fix the issue by deleting and reinstalling the Apple Music app, but this did not work for everyone.
Currently, Apple has not responded to the issues with iOS 13.5.1.
