In just one week, a 60-year-old man from Zhu Kou, Henan, has squandered his entire savings of 70,000 yuan (approximately 260 million VND) donating to a female streamer. This incident has plunged his family into financial hardship.

The story began when Mr. Li (Zhu Kou, Henan) participated in a livestream and quickly became a VIP account, topping the list of “generous donors” for the female streamer. He generously gifted her and supported her in PK battles. The joy of being called “big brother” by the female streamer, along with her sweet and loving words, made Mr. Li infatuated and unable to control himself.
Moreover, after the livestreams, Mr. Li and the female streamer exchanged private messages. Mr. Li stated that he had seen the female streamer naked via webcam and felt “happy inside”.

A father who has worked hard all his life, with a mentally ill mother, the family’s living situation, which was already difficult, has become even more desperate. Mr. Li was so frugal that he wouldn’t even change his torn clothes, yet he was willing to spend money on a stranger online. His daughter, upon learning of this, was heartbroken and desperate. She shared, “All the money is gone, it feels like the sky has fallen!” His daughter expressed her concern for her father’s well-being but feared he might repeat this behavior.
The released messages show that the female streamer continuously flattered Mr. Li, professing her love for him and asking him for “support”. This made the elderly man feel guilty for not donating to the streamer.

After exhausting his savings, Mr. Li and the female streamer met in real life. However, when reporters contacted her, the female streamer denied being naked, demanding Mr. Li provide proof and claimed that the meeting was not initiated by her.
Representatives from the livestream platform confirmed that they prohibit pornographic and inappropriate behavior. The female streamer admitted to receiving donations but stated that the actual amount was lower than the 60,000-70,000 yuan Mr. Li claimed. She agreed to refund 10,000 yuan (approximately 37 million VND) citing that her account was locked and she needed funds to resume operations. Mr. Li’s daughter confirmed that this amount was received. Currently, the incident is still being handled by the authorities and the livestream platform.
