Last night, an event considered unfortunate for the Vietnamese gaming community occurred when games were mentioned in the news report at 7 PM by Vietnam Television. This time, not only Identity V but a series of products like Liên Quân Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and even the trailer of League of Legends: Wild Rift were mentioned and shown by VTV.

There wouldn’t be anything noteworthy if VTV didn’t claim that online games have very negative effects on the youth. Many popular online games today, including Liên Quân Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Identity V… were mentioned by VTV as examples of how these games do not control the age of players, do not limit playtime, lack content censorship (especially for foreign games), and ultimately, were referred to as potentially addictive.

These points have caused the Vietnamese gaming community in general, and the mentioned games in particular, to feel troubled. In many gaming community groups on social media like Facebook, the topic of VTV has become a hot discussion among players. Of course, most of the posts are not very pleasant, especially when the game that players love is used as an example of the numerous harms of online gaming.

It can be seen that last night, the Vietnamese gaming community was stirred up. Many players reported that right after the news program ended, they received advice and lectures from their parents to minimize the chances of game addiction in the future.

Some players questioned whether this is truly fair to games in general and gamers in particular. It is hoped that the Vietnamese gaming community will maintain calm, express their voices in a civilized manner, and will not have any upheaval or storms in the Vietnamese gaming scene in the near future.
