League of Legends: Wild Rift, although not yet released, has already created a significant buzz among gamers worldwide, including in Vietnam. It is precisely due to this buzz that many gamers and YouTubers have taken the opportunity to “grab views, grab subs” for their YouTube channels.

Recently, one such post has made the gaming community uncomfortable with how this YouTuber “clickbaited” a video titled “Will League of Legends: Wild Rift Follow in the Footsteps of the Previous Generation When Facing Arena of Valor?” Right at the beginning of the clip, this YouTuber boldly stated, “League of Legends: Wild Rift has no chance to overthrow Arena of Valor” which annoyed the gaming community.

Many gamers believe that this video intentionally undermines other MOBA titles, including League of Legends: Wild Rift, to promote Arena of Valor. Almost all the “criticism” from the community has been “gifted” to this YouTuber with terms like “cheap sub grabbing”, “seeder”… To attract interactions for his clip, this YouTuber also stated:
“Many guys keep praising Wild Rift too much until it fails for real, then they’ll regret it. Everyone knows it has Riot’s backing and a huge user community, but its difficulty level is much higher, so it’s unlikely to attract as many players as Arena of Valor, instead catering only to a small number of users who enjoy this style of play. Not to mention many people are already accustomed to playing League of Legends on PC; they might try Wild Rift at first when it launches, but that doesn’t mean they’ll play long-term when PC is their true passion?

Conversely, Arena of Valor has always targeted mobile users from the start, so naturally, the number of mobile players is much larger with high loyalty. The hypothesis is when Wild Rift launches, how long will Arena of Valor users switch over? Given the increased difficulty, these players will likely return to Arena of Valor sooner or later. Let’s not forget that even major brands like even Marvel has failed.

With such language usage, it’s not hard to understand why this YouTuber has faced such backlash from the gaming community. Interestingly, despite attempting to create a “war” with his clickbait, this clip has only garnered a mere 697 views after two days, proving that no matter how much he tries to “seeder,” the most important thing is that the clip must have quality, which is the best way to attract viewers sustainably and long-term.
