Below is the unboxing and quick testing of this product.

The Kingston KC2500 comes in a very simple packaging, consisting only of a cardboard piece with information and a plastic tray. Positioned in the high-performance segment for knowledgeable users like gamers, servers, and powerful PCs, this SSD completely eliminates unnecessary elements and focuses solely on product quality.

Similar to other standard M.2 NVMe 2280 SSDs, the Kingston KC2500 has a ‘small and cute’ appearance with a black PCB, and specifications along with supported standards clearly printed on the label.

Currently, the M.2 NVMe standard is very popular, and we can plug this SSD into almost any motherboard, from budget lines to gaming or even server setups, and it runs smoothly.

The design of the Kingston KC2500 is quite different from common SSDs, as it covers both sides of the PCB with memory chips, RAM, and a controller chip. Here, the product uses the SMI 2262EN controller and 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, providing extremely high stability along with ‘lightning-fast’ speeds.
Kingston KC2500 offers 4 capacity options: 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB, with slightly varying speeds. The version tested here is 1TB, which, according to the manufacturer, has sequential read/write speeds of 3,500 – 2,900 MB/s, with a write endurance of 600TBW and a warranty of up to 5 years. Additionally, this SSD features excellent security with extremely safe XTS-AES 256-bit encryption.

The actual speed of the Kingston KC2500 is clearly demonstrated through the Crystal Disk Mark testing software, with sequential read/write speeds very close to the manufacturer’s specifications. This is almost the ‘limit’ of PCIe gen 3 x 4 bandwidth, and there are hardly any products that can be faster unless moving to gen 4 x 4.
However, it is noteworthy that the random read/write speeds (4K) of the Kingston KC2500 are incredibly fast, with 59 MB/s read and 146 MB/s write. Surely, games or software installed on this SSD will load extremely quickly, providing a super smooth user experience!
With excellent stability and ‘destructive’ speeds, the Kingston KC2500 is undoubtedly a choice that gamers or high-performance PC users, such as YouTubers and content creators in general, cannot overlook.
