
On July 25, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, stated that local police have just discovered an additional 21 cases of Chinese nationals illegally entering and residing in Da Nang.
“These individuals have been isolated immediately at their place of residence,” Mr. Chinh said.
According to Mr. Chinh, these individuals were discovered during a comprehensive inspection of accommodations, particularly in areas with a high number of foreign residents. He noted that Da Nang has uncovered a total of 52 Chinese nationals who entered illegally and “it remains unclear how they arrived in Da Nang” within just the past week.
Regarding the handling of illegally entering Chinese nationals, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, has assigned the police department to carry out isolation and find facilities to quarantine these individuals before legal action is taken. Mr. Tho also requested the health sector to coordinate in collecting samples for testing and conducting health checks on the illegally entering Chinese nationals.

Major General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, stated that regarding the ring facilitating the illegal entry of Chinese nationals and their accommodation in Da Nang and Quang Nam, Da Nang police have prosecuted three individuals, including two Vietnamese and one Chinese national.
Previously, a group of 30 people was discovered entering illegally and residing in Da Nang, and they are currently being quarantined. Among them, one group is isolated at a hotel in Son Tra district, while five individuals are quarantined at the 199 Hospital of the Ministry of Public Security. These individuals have undergone testing and tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Additionally, the Immigration Department of Quang Nam Province conducted an inspection at a guesthouse in Dien Duong ward (Dien Ban town) and found dozens of Chinese nationals residing illegally.
When the police arrived for inspection, this group attempted to flee in panic, resulting in authorities only being able to temporarily detain four individuals. Quang Nam authorities subsequently conducted searches and gathered an additional 17 individuals.
