On the afternoon of March 2nd, Thùy – the wife of Nguyễn Ngọc Mạnh – the man who climbed onto the roof to catch the girl falling from the 12th floor of the 60B Nguyễn Huy Tưởng apartment building in Thanh Xuân, Hanoi, announced that her husband’s main Facebook account had been hacked by an evil person.
Information posted on Thùy’s personal Facebook: “Currently, my husband Nguyễn Ngọc Mạnh – the account is being hacked, everyone be cautious. I will inform everyone when it is recovered, hope everyone is careful and pays more attention.”
Thùy posted on her personal Facebook about her husband Mạnh’s Facebook being hacked to prevent bad people from taking advantage of it to scam others.
Although currently, Mạnh’s personal Facebook page is still active, his latest post is a clip showing the overall view of the incident when he rescued the girl.
After a few hours of posting the status about Mạnh being hacked, new information updated from Thùy indicates that her husband Mạnh has reclaimed his personal Facebook account. Just after 2 days, his Facebook account has gained over 28 thousand followers.
After the incident of rescuing the girl was reported by the media, Mạnh’s personal page received a lot of public attention, and the number of followers on his page increased dramatically. Many people have given likes, hearts, and commented on his previous statuses.
However, there are also quite a few pages, groups, and even fake accounts created with the name Nguyễn Ngọc Mạnh, although their purpose remains unclear.

At around 5:30 PM, upon seeing a girl crawling outside the balcony on the 12th floor of the apartment, several people in the opposite building shouted to find someone to save her. Nguyễn Ngọc Mạnh (31 years old, Đông Anh district, Hanoi), a truck driver who was parked under the lobby, heard the shouts and looked out.
Raising his head and seeing the girl, he quickly got out of his car and found a way to climb over to the neighboring building and then climbed onto the roof of the parking garage. When the girl fell, he was able to reach out to catch her so she wouldn’t fall to the ground.
Fortunately, the girl was only injured and was taken to the pediatric hospital by her family for emergency care. Mạnh, on the other hand, suffered a sprained wrist.
