In an interview on the Sway podcast, Apple CEO Tim Cook shared quite a bit about the upcoming lawsuit with Epic Games, the company’s operational plans for the next decade, and the new privacy policies of iOS 14.5.
CEO Tim Cook was also asked about Apple’s electric vehicle development plans, including a question: “What do you think about Elon Musk?”
Tim Cook admitted that he greatly admires Elon Musk and Tesla, although he has never spoken directly with Elon Musk.

Late last year, Elon Musk tweeted that he had tried to sell Tesla to Apple many years ago; however, CEO Tim Cook didn’t even participate in any meetings with Elon Musk to negotiate this deal.
“You know, I have never talked to Elon, although I really admire and respect the company he has built. I think Tesla has done the unbelievable, not only establishing a leading position but also maintaining it for a long time in the electric vehicle sector. So I really admire them,” Tim Cook said.
Rumors about Apple developing and producing an electric car have been around since 2015. At that time, this secret project was called Project Titan. However, Apple has never confirmed or revealed any information about it.
After a few years, there were reports that Apple had abandoned this project and would only develop self-driving technology. Recently, there has been information that Apple is returning to the electric vehicle production project and could launch it by 2025.
It is very likely that the decision not to meet with Elon Musk and acquire Tesla a few years ago will be one of the regrets of CEO Tim Cook if Apple truly intends to produce an electric car.
