Although it was removed from the App Store 7 years ago, Flappy Bird remains one of the most iconic games of all time.

Launched in May 2013, Flappy Bird unexpectedly gained fame, eventually topping the free app charts on both the App Store and Google Play. In 2014, Flappy Bird became one of the most famed games ever to appear on the iPhone, created by developer Nguyễn Hà Đông.
This app reportedly generated an average revenue of $50,000 a day at its peak. However, the fame, hassle, and significant impact on his private life led Hà Đông to remove it from the App Store.
Nevertheless, the allure of this game caught the attention of developer Neil Sardesai, who brought it back through a surprising platform: the macOS notification center.

In his Twitter announcement, Neil Sardesai demonstrated the entire Flappy Bird game running through the notification window on a Mac. Touch interactions on the screen are simulated using mouse clicks, with the goal of avoiding obstacles remaining unchanged.
Previously, Sardesai discovered that the macOS Big Sur update allowed developers to customize notifications on Mac computers extensively. Since then, he has incorporated several simple games into this feature.

Currently, Sardesai has not yet made the Flappy Bird version available to the public in the macOS Big Sur notification center, so the video below serves as a reference proof that this project could potentially be implemented in the near future. For now, if players wish, they can experience a copy version on the Play Canvas website.
