On the evening of May 3, the Hanoi Department of Health reported a new SARS-CoV-2 positive case detected in the area.
The positive case is Mr. N.T.N (26 years old, residing at house number 18, alley 86 Phu Kieu, Phu Dien Ward, Bac Tu Liem District).
According to the epidemiological investigation results, on April 29, Mr. N took flight VN160 from Da Nang to Hanoi (on the flight, there were 2 Chinese individuals sitting in seats 49C and 50B who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2). This flight landed at 12:10 PM on April 29.
Mr. N traveled from Noi Bai airport to his residence at room 201, house number 18, alley 86 Phu Kieu by car driven by Mr. P. After that, Mr. N stayed at home until 9:30 PM the same day, then took his motorbike with a friend named H (who was on the same flight VN160 and is currently in concentrated quarantine in Bac Ninh) to eat snails at a sidewalk restaurant located at 64 Duong Khue, Nam Tu Liem District. By around 11:30 PM the same night, N returned home.

On April 30, Mr. N stayed home until around 11:30 AM, then went out for lunch with H at the Grilled Beef – O2 restaurant located at 136 Nguyen Phong Sac, Cau Giay District. Mr. N sat at the middle table of the restaurant, at that time there was 1 other table dining (about 6 people, no contact) and about 3 staff members (including: 1 person bringing the menu, 2 people serving food, no one wearing masks).
By around 1:30 PM on April 30, Mr. N took his friend H to Pham Hung Street near the bus station, the turn-off to Hoang Quoc Viet to catch a bus back to Bac Ninh. After that, Mr. N returned home and did not go anywhere else.
On May 1, Mr. N stayed at home and around 8 PM traveled by motorbike to his father’s house at number 23, alley 30, Hong Mai Street (in Bạch Mai Ward, Hai Ba Trung District). Here, Mr. N had contact with his father, younger brother, and two other people. Mr. N stayed overnight at his father’s house.
On May 2, around 12:15 PM, Mr. N and his younger brother went to eat broken rice at Dao Duy at number 416 Bạch Mai, Hai Ba Trung District. By around 1 PM the same day, he returned to his father’s house in alley 30, Hong Mai Street. In the evening, besides the 4 family members, there were also 3 relatives (aunt, uncle, and cousin) of Mr. N who came over for dinner. By around 10:30 PM, Mr. N rode his motorbike back to his room in Phuc Dien Ward, Bac Tu Liem District.
On May 3, Mr. N was tested by the Bac Tu Liem District Health Center and transferred to concentrated quarantine at the student dormitory in Tu Hiep, Thanh Tri District.
By 7 PM the same day, Mr. N received a positive test result for SARS-CoV-2 (conducted by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control). Currently, Mr. N is being transferred to isolation and treatment at the Central Tropical Diseases Hospital, Facility 2.
