Immediately, the force quickly chased and apprehended the suspect who ran out from house number 164 Thái Thị Bôi, identified as H.M.T. (14 years old, residing at 316 Thái Thị Bôi). At that moment, local residents discovered two victims, P.N.N. (28 years old) and his older sister P.T.H.N. (35 years old, both residing at 164 Thái Thị Bôi), were injured and took them to the hospital.
Through the initial questioning of the teenager and interactions with the family, the police determined this was not a robbery; T. did not steal anything from the victims, but the teenager exhibited abnormal psychological behavior, despite previously being an excellent student.
It was found that T. was addicted to violent online games, and three days before the incident, the family discovered he was playing a shooting game in a cemetery, so they deleted the game and forbade him from playing.
Tonight, H.M.T. left a note for his family stating that he was going outside for a bit to relieve fatigue, and he reassured them he was wearing a mask, so they shouldn’t worry.
When he left, T. took a knife and a pair of scissors with him, heading to the vicinity of house 164 Thái Thị Bôi, which is about 100 meters from his home. There, he saw P.N.N. sitting in front of the house and charged at him with the knife, asking, “Are you afraid of me?” At that time, N. replied, “I’m sitting here, why should I be afraid?” After that, H.M.T. attacked N. with the knife.
Hearing the cries for help, the victim’s sister, P.T.H.N., ran out and saw her brother struggling with a person armed with a weapon, mistaking it for a robbery, and intervened, only to be stabbed in the left shoulder by T.
As a result, N.N. sustained injuries to his left hand, requiring two stitches, and injuries to his left arm, requiring five stitches. Sister H.N. suffered an injury to her left shoulder, requiring three stitches.
Initially, the police suspect that T. was influenced by violent video games, leading him to use a weapon to injure two local residents. This also serves as a warning for families regarding the management of their children who are addicted to online games during social distancing and extended periods at home.
Currently, the case is under further investigation and clarification.
