Amid the controversies surrounding Rap Viet’s alleged “temporary borrowing” of graphic images from foreign designers for their posters, this popular rap program has recently found itself in another “scandal” related to a hardware company.

“I received this image through LinkedIn. Can any of our fans in Vietnam tell me what this Rap Viet program is and why they are using Razer Zephyr?” billionaire Ming-Liang Tan wrote on Facebook. Accompanying this post were several poster images showing the contestants of Rap Viet wearing Razer Zephyr masks.

According to some netizens analyzing beneath billionaire Ming-Liang Tan’s post, the images from Rap Viet may have been… manipulated using Photoshop. Specifically, instead of directly purchasing and having the rappers wear the Zephyr masks, Rap Viet might have used photo editing software to “stick” these masks onto the contestants’ faces.

Of course, it cannot be ruled out that the organizers of Rap Viet did actually purchase these mask models for the contestants to use while taking poster photos. However, the Rap Viet organizers have yet to respond to CEO Razer’s post. Meanwhile, Ming-Liang Tan’s post has attracted numerous comments from netizens in Vietnam. The billionaire himself also promised to give away Razer products to fans in Vietnam if the post reaches 2,000 likes.

As for the Razer Zephyr, this “super cool” mask was just launched by Razer on October 21 for a price of $99 (2.3 million VND), specifically designed for gamers. Not only does it help protect the health of the wearer, but the Razer Zephyr also serves as a fashion accessory to increase the “coolness,” according to Razer’s advertising.

Specifically, like other gaming accessories and PC components from the company, the Razer Zephyr is equipped with Chroma RGB light strips that shimmer on both sides of the mask’s air filters. The use of these light strips makes the design of the Razer Zephyr stand out, reminiscent of high-tech gas masks used in the military.

In terms of health protection, this gamer mask is equipped with an N95 filter, UV sterilization lights, with a dust and bacteria filtration efficiency of up to 99%, including fine particles as small as 0.3 microns, according to Razer’s claims. The mask filter and RGB lights operate on rechargeable batteries using a USB-C port, providing power all day long. Additionally, the filters in the mask can also be replaced after a period of use.
