Confessing to a crush is always one of those moments that makes many young men rack their brains, investing time to plan, sometimes even scripting for days on end. Although in reality, things usually don’t go as we have planned, it is clear that guys always put in a lot of effort to prepare for that moment. In recent years, there have been no shortage of impressively elaborate confession displays, like the case of Tong Aonan, a mechanical worker from Shenyang, China, recently.

Specifically, Tong Aonan is deeply in love with his crush and always thinks of ways to express his feelings in the most impressive manner. After a period of contemplation, he decided to create a gift, which was to use colorful Rubik’s cubes to assemble a portrait of his dream crush. As the 27-year-old man shared, he spent two months sketching the portrait, which measures 2.1 meters tall and 1.4 meters wide, using Photoshop. After that, Tong also spent nearly 500 USD (about over 10 million VND) to buy 840 Rubik’s cubes.

But that was just the preparation phase. After another 20 hours – 3 sleepless nights, Tong finally completed his masterpiece. Once the last piece, attaching the Rubik’s cubes to a wooden frame, was finished, Tong was overjoyed and immediately prepared for his confession to his crush. But life never goes as expected. Despite all the effort, what Tong received was just a harsh rejection.

Although he did not receive a positive response from his crush, Tong also did not seem too upset as he felt that at least he had made her truly emotional. “I just wanted to surprise her and express my feelings… but being rejected, I actually don’t mind too much” – the young man shared. He may say that, but just looking at the moments of him sitting there, dazed next to the portrait of his crush, it’s clear we understand how sad Tong must be.

After the story was posted, the online community quickly shared and expressed their sympathy for the guy. Well, if it’s not the right person at the right time, one must accept it.
