Midnight Plea for Help
On the evening of June 19, social media buzzed with the story of a freshman in Hanoi who forgot his laptop. According to the information in the post, the male student accidentally left behind his laptop bag worth 22 million VND at the bus station on Lang Street (Hanoi) while boarding a bus. Coming from a poor family, the laptop was his only asset when he came to Hanoi to study.
The post received significant attention from the online community, garnering tens of thousands of likes and shares. Miraculously, just one hour later, forums were updating that the lucky student had found his laptop.

We contacted Mr. N.H.T, a representative of the Hanoi fanpage, who acted as a bridge to help the student Nguyen Hoang Tuan in the aforementioned post. Mr. T. said that around 8:30 PM on June 19, Hoang Tuan messaged the fanpage pleading for assistance.
Upon reading Tuan’s message, Mr. T. reassured the freshman to stay calm and check the cameras of nearby houses for clues. Once there were camera images, the fanpage would post to seek assistance.
“The page receives many messages daily asking for help to find lost documents, phones, and items… We cannot respond to all of them in a timely manner. However, when reading Tuan’s message indicating he was a student and that the laptop was the only asset his parents bought for him to study, we decided to find a way to verify and assist him,” Mr. T. shared.
A Miracle Thanks to Warm Humanity
After the plea, the student tried to check the cameras around the bus stop but found no information. He sadly messaged Mr. T. again, hoping to find another solution.
Feeling sympathetic towards his situation, Mr. T. asked Tuan to take a photo at the bus station so he could write a post.
“When we posted it at 10 PM, we didn’t expect the article would go viral like that. We received many messages and offers to support the student just 30 minutes later.
The effect of the story put the page under great pressure from public opinion, with some claiming it was fabricated and others accusing it of being a scam. We were hesitant to post the boy’s phone number or account details for fear that some would exploit that to deceive others.
In the end, we had to comfort him that it’s just a loss and to consider it as a life lesson, with the hope that someone kind would contact him with the phone number he had in his pocket. If no one reached out within the next 24 hours, the page team would allocate part of the funds to buy him a new laptop,” Mr. T. confided.

Surprisingly, at 9 AM on June 20, Mr. T. received a call from Tuan reporting that someone had found his laptop. Tuan said that in the backpack he forgot, there was a warranty paper with his phone number on it. The person who found it contacted him and arranged to return it right to his home. The story of the student ended with a heartwarming resolution, showcasing the kindness of humanity.
“Tuan messaged back and thanked me profusely. He appreciated the 27-year-old man who found the laptop for him. The man mentioned that he had returned home tired from work the night before, and his wife told him to sleep early, so he didn’t read the news. This morning, he was scrolling online and saw the post, immediately calling Tuan.
How fortunate that there are still many good people around. We are very happy and grateful to the online community for their support. Good things will happen if we have faith in life,” Mr. T. expressed.
