Many Facebook users have a need to share basic personal information such as address, religion, sexual orientation, job, and more. However, it seems that this information may soon disappear from the aforementioned social network.

As the number of competitors increases and the nature of social media changes, Facebook is no longer as popular as it once was. In fact, many teenagers no longer use this platform regularly, opting instead for more personal platforms like Snapchat or video apps like TikTok.
This latest move by the company seems to be part of an effort to simplify the platform as well as minimize the amount of shared information regarding privacy.

Speaking with TechCrunch, a Facebook representative stated that this change is an effort to “make Facebook more streamlined and user-friendly.” It is unclear whether this means Facebook profile pages will soon have a new design or simply remove information fields that many users do not care about.

Currently, Meta has started notifying users who provided this information that they will not be able to share personal information in the near future. It is expected that on December 1st, Meta will purge address, religion, political views, and sexual orientation fields from Facebook. The remaining information fields will remain unchanged until further notice./.
