Free Fire is one of the few mobile games that has surpassed 1 billion downloads. Although it was initially developed by a Vietnamese team, the game received mixed reviews from players after being published by Garena. Most critiques focused on Free Fire’s graphics.

However, recently, after the release of the game Forspoken, the online community has been “turning around” to apologize to Free Fire. The reason being that the graphics and gameplay of this title have been heavily criticized by players, not living up to the expectations of a blockbuster at the beginning of 2023.
Of course, this is just a light-hearted comparison because even though Free Fire has undergone a graphic upgrade with the Free Fire MAX version, it still cannot compare to Forspoken, no matter how unattractive Square Enix’s game might be.
Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that Forspoken is truly making players feel uncomfortable due to its “terrible” graphics. Many players even claim that when playing this game on the next-gen platform PS5, it feels like playing a PS3 game. This highlights just how criticized Forspoken’s visuals are.
Returning to Free Fire, this game was released for Android and iOS in December 2017 by Garena Studios and developed by 111dots Studio (Vietnam). The game is similar to other mobile Battle Royale titles like PUBG Mobile and Clash Royale but is suitable for low-spec smartphones. Each match includes only 50 players and typically lasts just 10 minutes, much faster than PUBG Mobile, making Free Fire accessible to a large number of players worldwide.
