Users ChatGPT worldwide are currently unable to access the service for over 3 hours as of this moment. OpenAI, the company behind this popular AI chatbot, has confirmed the outage, stating they have identified the cause and are actively working on a fix.
Not only ChatGPT, but this outage has also affected Sora, OpenAI’s text-to-video generator, causing this service to become unusable as well. This information was confirmed by OpenAI on their service status page and social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier this month, OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman revealed that the company’s technology had reached 300 million regular users per week. This current outage comes shortly after Apple released new software versions integrating ChatGPT for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
This is not the first time ChatGPT has encountered issues. In June, the service was also disrupted for over 5 hours.

Valued at $157 billion in its latest funding round in October with participation from Microsoft and Nvidia, OpenAI has become a phenomenon in the tech industry since launching ChatGPT in late 2022. Currently, users are still unable to access ChatGPT, and it remains unclear when the issue will be fully resolved.
